There is an inch more travel here than any machine in the
class at 17 inches. The X Limited has fully adjustable Elka
shocks and excellent suspension, in addition to diff-lock.
The somewhat unique rear suspension provides a nice ride
on a wide variety of surfaces. The ITP tires proved adept at
handling a wide range of terrain without any hiccups.
We hear the Arctic Cat has more boost on the horizon. At the
moment, the Wildcat has plenty of zoom to make it interesting, but it has less power than the top 1000cc machines in
Camp Chef honchos Brandon Sparrow and Brooks Hansen
were along and helped with the testing. Sparrow tackled
Moab’s Gatekeeper feature!
We could use a little more legroom for taller drivers, but otherwise the Wildcat cockpit is a fine place to spend time and
The air intake for the machine is high and out of the water
and dust you experience on the trails. We didn’t notice that
it added any noise that intruded into the passenger compartment.
