Cheap insurance for
a long engine life
Racers change their oil after every race, and heavy dust can place extra workloads on air
and oil filters, especially in hotter summer months that tax oil more. Changing the oil and
filter more often is the answer.
Polaris recommends use of PURE Polaris PS- 4 Plus full-synthetic oil
in the extreme-performance ProStar 875cc engine. We used a PC
Racing PCS1 oil filter and the supplied Polaris oil-catch tool, plus a
13mm wrench, 6mm Allen wrench with a 5-inch extension, large
channel locks and a 17mm wrench to install the oil filter.
Start the engine, park on a level surface and let the engine run a
few minutes to thin the oil. Stop the engine and remove the seats
to access the insulated engine-access panel.

Racing), remove the left muffler for clearance. Aftermarket shocks
may also present clearance problems with your drain funnel.
