In 1988 this is what stood in Honda dealerships
across the country. It was the early years of the sport,
and no one could have imagined what an impact this
machine would have on it.
Here’s what the project looked like when we first stumbled on this
gem. We paid $2000 for it, but remember the bodywork alone is
worth over $1000, and the guy we bought it from threw in a 1985
ATC250R frame with the title. We might have to build that one next.
After stripping, sandblasting, gusseting and powdercoating the stock square-tube frame, we first installed the CT Racing refurbished two-stroke engine. Inside it received new Hot Rods products, and it, too, was sandblasted and repainted for an OE look.
