Nick Emery and his wife have gotten
into dirt drags in the Michigan area.
He rides the green Banshee with 611cc
billet cylinders ported by K&T, billet
heads and cases, Lectron carbs, 2-5
cut transmission, Shearer pipes and a
stretched-out custom frame. His wife’s
pink YFZ has a modified frame with a + 8
swingarm. The engine has a + 4 Falicon
crank and Athena cylinder making it
498cc. It has a 15:1 piston and + 2 valves
with a 1-4 cut transmission. The plastic
was hydrodipped with the zebra pattern.
Dan Bohn recently bought two brand-new 2016 Polaris High Lifter 1000s for his
wife and himself. With the rack-mounted
radiators, extra ground clearance and
beefed-up parts, they’re ready to tackle
the toughest mud holes in Wisconsin.
At this time of the year they have to be
able to get through the deep snow of the
frozen tundra too.
Paul Proctor has a pretty unique machine
here. Back in the ’80s. Nicholson made
this special three-wheeler frame to
accept a Honda XR500 dirt bike engine
because it wouldn’t fit into an ATC350X
frame. Paul patterned the look of his
ATC500X to be visually similar to Mickey
Dunlap’s racing ATCs of the old days. He
has a blast riding his big 500 four-stroker in the San Diego area.
Tim Graham gets down the Virginia
trails very quickly on his Honda ATC250R
here. It has a 350cc cylinder, shortened
CR125 forks, + 4 swingarm and custom
beadlock rear wheels. It looks like he has
also done some polishing and chroming
on some other parts as well. His ATC
looks very clean and business-like.
