Many ATV events during the summer
are held in conjunction with big-name
country-star or rock concerts. At places
like Brimstone, you can also rent cabins
or camp right on the property.
We included some races in this year’s
spring “Ride Guide.” These are events
worth going to, even if you don’t plan
on competing. The Idaho Rally race
takes place in conjunction with an ATV

MEMORIAL ATV RALLY
Iron County has the largest ATV
trail system in Wisconsin, with more
than 200 miles of scenic trails that
are open year round. The Memorial
ATV Rally brings in riders by the
thousands into Mercer and Hurley for
the activities. Most of them take part
in the big ATV parade this event is
known for. Activities like mud bogs
and poker runs can also be enjoyed.
Music, campfires, BBQs and awards
finish off each day’s riding.

The White Knuckle activities
include big-name country star concerts, a sled pull, mud surfing, guided rides, drag races, an obstacle
course, moonshine run and other
rodeo events. Another highlight is the
Kawasaki Wild Mountain Rampage,
which is a GPS navigation event
that takes you on a treasure hunt
of the Brimstone Recreation Trails.
Speaking of trails, Brimstone has 300
miles of what they call “bad roads,”
which translates to awesome trails.
A huge vendor area and demo rides
round out the list of fun. Camping and

Along with epic trail-riding opportunities, organized ATV events like jamborees allow you to try things you may
have never done on your quad before.
This event took place at Windrock Park
The biggest and best mud event in the
world takes place every March and is
called the High Lifter Mud Nationals.
Even if you don’t compete in the pit,
there is plenty of goopy trail riding, contests, BBQ and a huge vendor area to
spend your time at.

ATV MX AT SUNSET RIDGE
A little over an hour’s drive from
the western suburbs of Chicago,
Sunset Ridge MX Track in Walnut,
Illinois, hosts one of the best stops
on the ATV MX National circuit. The
track is home to two-time champion
Chad Wienen, and the fans come
out in droves to cheer on their hero.
If you have never been to a national,
it’s worth the trip this summer. Along
with the pro action, there are classes
for all age groups and skill levels so
that you can compete in one. Check
