CHAMPIONSHIPS
the inaugural event in 2015 was a success, but 2016 was over the top. The
day of racing started with a healthy
crew of motorcycle and ATV racers
battling the 14-mile loop course, but
without even counting those entries,
BITD had 218 UTV teams fighting for
over $100,000 in cash and prizes that
included four Polaris RZRs!
The motorcycles and ATVs were
the first to race at 6: 30 in the morning.
When they were finished, the Walker
Evans Racing Desert championship
race started when rows of 18 UTVs
began leaving at timed intervals.
After just over three hours of pressure
from Mitch Guthrie, Justin Lambert
(Polaris RZR XP 1000) won the 160-mile
race. Lambert swapped the lead multiple times battling with the RZR XP
Turbo of Mitch Guthrie. Almost within
sight of the finish Guthrie suffered a
mechanical problem while leading,
and Lambert blasted the finish with a
10-minute lead. He collected his cash
Red Lands Racing was showing superior driving skills all day with their tricked-out
Polaris RZR. In this corner they drove on two wheels halfway through while motoring strong and never lifting.
