GETTING THERE VERY QUICKLY
How long does it take Paul Lane to get to 100 mph?
From a standstill, he has done it in 6.4 seconds. Of course,
his Yamaha Banshee is not exactly stock. It has a 465cc
Cheetah Cub stroker engine, a 60-inch wheelie bar and
a few other mods. His drag-strip times regularly embarrass many of the hot-rod cars.
GIRLS RACE TOO!
Sara Sandusky built this highly modified ’07 Honda
TRX450R to race in Florida motocross and cross-country
events. She has installed many high-performance parts
from Lone Star Racing, like widened A-arms, nerf bars
and an exhaust system. Fox Float Evol RC2 long-travel
shocks provide a smooth ride up front, while a Fox 2.0
Podium RC2 shock helps suspend the rear of Sara’s
Honda. While a large part of racing is male-dominated,
there are a lot of fast female racers that love riding and
racing just as much as the next person. Go to www.

race-ready TRX450R.
PROJECT CAN-AM DS450
Will James is a Dirt Wheels reader in Iowa who made
major improvements to his Can-Am DS450 with the help
of BCS Performance. It has their motor mods and radiator
along with an FMF pipe. He uses Fox shocks with Josh
Creamer valving, and Walsh custom A-arms, swingarm,
pull rod, subframe and steering stem. It has BCS billet
spindles with Lone Star hubs, and Rath nerf bars, grab
bar and front bumper. Will says his DS is super fast and
the best-handling quad there is.
TWO-STROKE HALL OF FAME
If you were to make a list of the top four favorite two-strokes of all time, it would have to include the Yamaha
Banshee, Suzuki Quadzilla 500, Honda ATC250R and
Honda TRX250R. Here are those machines parked in the
driveway of Marion Alaniz in Yuma, Arizona. He obviously appreciates the fine art of mixing oil with the fuel
of a high-performance off-road machine. With Glamis
not too far away, we’re sure his ATVs are used to blasting
around on those sand dunes.
