In addition to Sportsman and Pro racing
for the “big kids,” Bako also features
races for the next generation of sand-drag racers to hone their racing skills.
This year racers came from California,
Oregon, Arizona, Nevada and even
Puerto Rico. Here, Spitali Racing’s
Dakoda Crockett from Glendale,
Arizona, blasts off. Crockett won the
4.1– 4.3-second Index race.
Oregon-based racer Gee Armstrong,

Fullerton Sand Sports/Redline Racing-powered YFZ in the Pro Index Heads-Up
Racing action goes on all day at the
Bako race. When the sun goes down,
the racing fun continues under the
track’s nighttime lights. Bakersfield
racer Craig Wright (#21) won first place
in a couple of races.
