CAN-AM OUTLANDER 1000R X mr/850 X mr
Can-Am’s Outlander X mr series contains their biggest
mudding machines. You can get this monster quad in
two engine sizes, starting with the biggest 89-horsepower
1000R V-twin. Thirty-inch Gorilla Axle Silverback tires
come on the 850 and 1000R, along with a 3000-pound
Warn winch for sticky situations.
CAN-AM OUTLANDER 6X6 XT ($13,649)
The Outlander 6x6 is a unique machine that has six
wheels that all receive engine power to them from either
their 650 or 1000 powerplants. It comes with Tri-mode
power steering and a Visco-Lok system that will transfer
power between the two front wheels, depending on loss of
traction for a more reliable footprint. The big tilt-assisted
dump bed can hold up to 700 pounds.
CAN-AM OUTLANDER 650 X mr ($10,549)
This is one well-priced mudder. You get a relocated
radiator to reduce the chance of your machine running too
hot from mud buildup, and you get an elevated snorkel kit
with the 650 X mr. Twenty-eight-inch Maxxis Mudzilla tires
are wrapped around 12-inch wheels. A heavy-duty front
bumper is included in the X mr package as well.
ARCTIC CAT ALTERRA 400 ($5,799)
The Alterra 400 carries an air-cooled, 366cc, four-stroke
engine that is reliable and durable. It shares the same
frame and suspension as the Alterra 450, including its
independent front and rear suspension and hydraulic disc
brakes. It will tow up to 1050 pounds and hold 225 pounds
between its front and rear racks.
ARTIC CAT XC 450 ($7,699)
The Arctic Cat XC 450 is what the Cat company considers to be their pure-sport-type 4x4. It has a 443cc, SOHC,
four-stroke mill that is liquid-cooled and has electronic
fuel injection. Like all the Cats in the 4x4 lineup, it has an
automatic CVT transmission with reverse. This machine
doesn’t come with racks, but it will tow up to 1050 pounds.
ARCTIC CAT 500 ($6,599)
Arctic Cat’s 500 provides all the useful qualities of a rec-reation/utility ATV. It has a strong engine with fuel injection, cargo racks to hold equipment and can tow up to 1050
pounds. Its 4x4 system comes with an electronic-locking
front differential as well with independent suspension in
the front and rear.
