SYMTEC/HEAT DEMON
Powered Warmer Kit
Price: $25.00 to $169.95
Heat Demon is very serious about
keeping you warm, starting with a
bargain ATV seat heater at $25. The
Heat Demon universal carbon fiber
seat heater installs easily on any ATV
with a battery system. You remove
the staples from the rear of the seat
and stick the thin and flexible heating
pad down. The
seat is then wired
into the electrical
system, or it is compatible with the
Heat Demon dual
or quad controllers
in the heated grip
kits.
Heat Demon has
a ton of options for
grips. The heat
pads install under
your choice of
grips, glue-on heated grips, push-on
heated grips and even the heater
goes inside the handlebar. ATV kits
include a thumb-throttle warmer, or
you can buy the thumb warmer separately. Kits come with two-zone or
quad-zone controllers. The quad-zone allows you to control the heat
setting of the grips and throttle, a
heated seat and allows control of two
ports for heated clothing. We
installed a kit with the push-on grips
and quad-zone controller, and it was
very complete for a clean installation.
controller ports. Other companies sell
full-coverage heated clothing, so if
you are interested, it will pay to do
some shopping. For a UTV or even a
4x4 ATV, the plug-in clothing should
work fine. For a sport ATV where you
move around on the machine more,
the battery-powered clothing is probably a safer, less restrictive option.

mal gloves in the cold. These are
great in conjunction with heated
grips. They do tear on branches.

Mud Paws Gauntlets
Price: $18.95–$22.95
Paws are not an electric product,
but they work well in concert with
heated grips. A heavy outer shell
with a fleece lining helps keep your
hands warm in the coldest conditions. They attach loosely to the
machine, so you can wear normal
gloves rather than heavy winter
ones. They look bulky but have room
for controls. Installs easily with a
hook-and-loop-type fastener that
seals around the handlebar. You
reach inside, so they are better for
4x4-type riding than sport quads.
Kolpin Geartector Mitts
Price: $30.49–$36.99
The mitts come in black or Mossy
Oak Breakup Camo. These are the
ones that attach to the bar, and you
put your hands inside through a
large, reinforced opening. A plush
lining keeps your hands warm. A
simple, locking draw cord seals the
mitts to the handlebars, and there’s a
durable plate on the front for abra-sion-resistance. The roomy interior
allows complete access to all controls.

Heated Clothing
Price: Feet heaters, $89.95; vest,
$199.95
Heated clothing is not part of this
guide, but since the HD controllers
support it and the company sells it,
we thought we would include a brief
mention. You may power the vest
with a battery pack or plug it in to the
Molded Foam Hand Protectors
Price: $24.95
We keep these in our gear bags at
all times. They are shaped, closed-cell foam covered in nylon. These
actually work best over other handguards. There are holes at the outside
to zip-tie them to wrap-around handguards. At the inboard end, they tie
on with a cinch strap. They are light
and keep wind and rain off your
hands. They allow you to wear nor-
ROX SPEED FX
Rox Handguard Flares
Price: $34.95
These flexible handguard flares
(shown installed, handguard not
included) are designed to mount to
PowerMadd Star-series handguards.
They offer maximum protection from
roost and cold without interfering
with your hands and controls during
aggressive riding. We included them
since wind- or weather-blocking
flares make such a huge difference in
hand comfort, and they work perfectly with heated grips. The flares are
made from closed-cell foam with a
Cordura-type skin for excellent durability. Flares extend above, below
and inboard of the plastic guard.
They are attached with plastic snap
rivets. Find them under the snowmobile section of the Rox Speed website.
