out again. I know that she is getting
a gift she already loves and complements that new helmet as well. Since
I went with a conservative color on
the helmet, we will have a fade Black/
Pink goggle under the tree.
GOPRO HERO4 SILVER
Seriously, who does any action
sport these days without an action
cam? As far as your buddies are
concerned, if there isn’t video of it, it
didn’t really happen. This is my plan:
I’ll give it to my wife! I’ll sell her on the
idea of great family memories. Yeah,
I’ll just keep telling myself this isn’t a
recipe for lawyer involvement. The
$349 GoPro Hero4 in silver is a beauty
of an action camera. It is compact,
shoots 1080p at 60 frames per second,
and it shoots 12-megapixel still photos
up to 30 a second! Did we mention the
touch display and that it’s waterproof
up to 131 feet? I admit, if the UTV is
that deep in water, we may have a
problem other than camera dampness, but it will be a great video. Visit

KAREL KRAMER,
AKA “STORMER”
HISUN SECTOR 250 UTV
While I am still a little resentful
that my dad waited until I moved
out of state to take up off-roading,
he is still my dad. He loves shooting
and hunting, but doesn’t get around
by foot any longer. His part of Texas
is pretty flat, so if he had the $4799
Hisun Sector, he could get back to
some of his favorite outdoor activities. The 2WD Sector is only a 229cc
single, but the latest model has lower
gearing for more performance. This
compact machine looks cool with the
six color options and stock cast-aluminum wheels. It will be a little snug
getting in, but the price is great.
This machine should handle any
off-roading he wants to do. Check out

EKS BRAND GOX GOGGLES
My daughter and I had our first UTV
dune trip for the Bad Boy Stampede
test. We were meeting friends there,
and everyone warned her that
she needed expensive sunglasses.
Instead, we borrowed the $64.99 EKS
Brand Gox EKS-S goggles with a mirrored tinted lens. The goggle looked
great in photos, and she said the tint
was perfect for her eyes in the bright
sun reflecting off the sand. The face fit
with the EKS four-layer face foam kept
the wind and sand at bay. So, I lucked
LS2 456 HELMET
One of the great things about
off-roading is being able to share it
with the family. My daughter has a
great time with quads and UTVs, but
it is time for a new helmet. She is still
as slim as a kid but needs an adult
helmet. LS2’s 456 ($237.48) should be
just the ticket. I cheated a little; she
wore one helping me test the Bad
Boy Stampede in this issue, so I know
she likes the fit, weight and style of it.
I don’t mind buying new protective
gear, but it is nice being totally certain
she will like what I get. The 456 runs a
little small, so a medium is just fine for
her. She liked the Light Compass Blue,
so I think I’ll go that route rather than
one of the nice girly colors LS2 offers.
ALUMA UT14 UTILITY TRAILER
Yeah, we might need help from
Santa on this one. Our old 18-foot
UTV trailer needs some serious loving,
including all-new wood for the deck.
The wood has been such a hassle
that the family has been dreaming
of a trouble-free, light, $3799 Aluma
UT14 utility trailer. It has all-aluminum
construction, with the exception of the
axle and the hitch. It has a rubber
torsion axle and aluminum wheels.
This would pull and load so nice for
our family adventures. It has pull-out
ramps and a box to store tie-downs.
We can see this behind the family
truck already! See www.alumaklm
.com.
