In the 2016 Alterra lineup the 450 is a step above the
base-model 400. It starts at $6199, where the 400 starts at
$5799 and they both come in green or red.
There are four youth ATV models for the 2016 lineup. The
$2899 DVX 90, Arctic Cat 90 for $2899 and the Arctic Cat 150
in green for $3799.
a 951cc four-stroke engine with EPS
that comes standard, and has many
similar features to the MudPro, like
10 inches of wheel travel from their
coil-over suspension and the same
Maxxis tires. It comes in only one
color, which is green, with aluminum wheels for $11,499.
As far as the smaller-bore Arctic
Cat line goes, they offer a 500cc and
300cc model. The 500 comes with
a 443cc, SOHC, four-stroke engine
with 4x4 and diff-lock capabilities.
The 300 is only a 2WD machine with
half of the suspension wheel travel
at 5 inches and comes with a rear
swingarm instead of independent
rear suspension. The Arctic Cat 500
can tow up to 1050 pounds, whereas
the 300 can only tow 500 pounds
SPORT AND UTILITY
Arctic Cat’s pure-sport ATV is
their XC 450 that has a 443cc four-
stroke engine with EFI. You can
select between 2- and 4WD, but it
doesn’t come with diff-lock capa-
bilities. The XC runs on aluminum
wheels with Maxxis MS10K tires
wrapped around them. The 450 can
tow up to 1050 pounds, but it doesn’t
come with storage racks on it.
Their main utility ATV is their TBX
700 that comes with a dump bed
that can hold up to 300 pounds, and
a big side storage compartment to
fit work gloves or smaller tools. The
TBX comes stock with power steering and independent rear suspension with 10 inches of wheel travel in
the coil-over shocks. It can tow up to
1050 pounds like most of Arctic Cat’s
Arctic Cat has one two-up ATV
in their 2016 lineup of machines.
Their TRV 700 Special Edition comes
in black and green with aluminum
wheels, a Warn 3000-pound winch
and a rear passenger seat. Power
steering comes standard, along with
4x4 and diff-lock. The 25-inch Duro
3 Star Kaden tires take the machine
where you want to go on its fully
independent suspension on all four
As far as kids’ quads go, Arctic
Cat sports three machines in their
2016 lineup, starting with their Arctic
Cat 150. It runs off of an air-cooled,
149cc, four-stroke engine with 2WD.
It comes with 3. 5 inches of wheel
travel through its front shocks and
rear swingarm. The youth machine
can even tow up to 300 pounds.
Next is the Arctic Cat 90 that is
also a 2WD ATV with an automatic
CVT transmission. Like the 150, it
has hydraulic front brakes with a
drum brake in the rear for stopping
power, single-A-arm front suspension and a rear swingarm. The last
machine in the group is the DVX
90 that shares all the exact same
attributes as the Arctic Cat 90 but
doesn’t come with storage racks. ❏
As far as the Prowler lineup goes for 2016, they have a 1000
and 700. The 700 XT sports a 691cc, fuel-injected engine that
starts at $13,999.
For 2016 Arctic Cat’s only twp-up machine is the TRV 700
Special Edition. It starts at $11,399 and comes with a 3000-
pound Warn winch, aluminum wheels and 25-inch Duro 3 Star
Kaden tires. It comes in black and green or in this orange and
camo color scheme.
