The YXZ’s engine is more like the Yamaha Vector snowmobile
than any other powerplant including the Viper, Genesis or R1.
Turbo kits are already available for the Vector, pumping out
155 horsepower from Mountain Performance: (888) 649-4609.
The clutch plates in the YXZ1000R were originally developed
for the 1679cc V-Max motorcycle. On this machine, Yamaha
added a couple more plates just for insurance.
This is the first UTV of any kind with the front shocks protruding through the hood. The Fox Podiums are fully adjustable and
offer 16. 2 inches of travel. We could see people changing springs but very few will replace the entire shock.
